THE FALL OF TROY

Rating: NN

All the best song titles have already been taken. Think about it. What about, like, No Woman, No Cry, or Paranoid or even Mr. Vain? See? So simple yet so poignant. That’s probably why Washington’s Fall of Troy, along with every other screamo/metal-core band on earth, has to come up with “crazy” song names to accompany the ever-growing generic qualities inherent in the genre. So songs like Whacko Jacko Steals The Elephant Man’s Bones or You Got A Death Wish, Johnny Truant are just loud, obnoxious reminders that the Fall of Troy could very well be Alexisonfire, the Number Twelve Looks Like You or Fear Before the March of Flames – it’s all the same difference, which is as dull as it is depressing. The Fall of Troy play the Reverb Sunday (June 18).
