Stings pet project, an ambitious musical set against Britains deindustrialization in the 1980s, is an awkward mixture of earnest storytelling, uneven songs and flat-out pretension. The actors (including Sting himself) are decent, and there are some memorable songs, including the melancholy title waltz. But thats not enough to keep this dreary show afloat.
