THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS

Rating: NNN

Countless wasted hours spent watching MuchMusic in the 90s are biting me on the ass in the form of this TPOH best-of. Disarmingly, it’s not entirely unpleasant. Moe Berg wrote more than a few killer pop songs, and his neurotic, self-deprecating lyrics are insightfully hilarious. Yes, it sounds dated, but at least they never took themselves too seriously, which is an endearing quality most Canrock groups still lurking around FM radio don’t possess. Besides, I’d rather hear I’m An Adult Now a thousand times before just one more Life Is A Highway.

The Pursuit of Happiness reunite at Lee’s Palace December 29.
