Toronto Celebrates World Lindy Hop Day with Swing Era Music from Big Band Martin Loomer’s Orange Devils and Beginner Swing Dance Lesson

Close your eyes, can you hear it? The upbeat rhythm of drums, the playful tease of the trumpet, and the smooth melody of the saxophone weaving together in perfect harmony. Now, open your eyes, you’re in Toronto, 1940. Suddenly, your feet start moving, you’re caught in the infectious energy of the Big Band Swing Dance. Don’t just dream about it…JOIN IT!

On June 1st, 2024, Lindy Hoppers from all over Toronto will be at Cecil Community Centre to celebrate the original swing dance…LINDY HOP! A dance that is now danced all over the world since it was created by Black dancers in Harlem, NYC in the early 1930s.

1930s/1940s Swing Era Music from Martin Loomer’s Orange Devils, a 14-piece Swing Band.

Not a dancer? No worries! We have a Lindy Hop Lesson Included (no partner required) in the price OR you can just sit an enjoy the dancers and the amazing music. Everyone Welcome!
