WHAT: Cortes de Cima Chaminé 2006 (red) Rating: NNN
WHERE: Alentejo, Portugal
WHY: With its “international style” and non-native grapes, this is either another death knell for traditional, localized Old World winemaking or a welcome shot of investment and innovation to a developing wine region. I dunno. Wine politics aside, this big, dark, fruity number is yummy and barbecue-compatible.
