WHAT: Macinatico Vernaccia di San Gimignano 2007 (white) Rating: NNN
WHERE: Tuscany, Italy
WHY: If Tuscany triggers any wine image, the hue will probably be red, but let’s ponder a less pigmented option for summer slurping. Vernaccia di San Gimignano is the grape, and here it delivers some good weight, a touch of spice and nice zip. Tasty enough that you’ll probably finish the bottle before you figure out how to pronounce it.
PRICE: 750 ml/$13.95
