Just a short walk from the Rogers Centre, the Miller is the place to refresh before and after four thrilling (or gruelling) hours of baseball. There’s a tantalizing wall of spirits to appeal to his discerning (and hardcore) side, and surf ‘n’ turf’s on the menu. The front patio is great for daytime burgers and pints.

This Danforth classic is a rare institution that serves as a destination and a local. Even if it’s his first time, Pa will feel like he’s coming home to a beloved haunt. It has a cozy pub vibe and a well-stocked bar indoors (the whisky selection is especially well-rounded), but if you really want to make his weekend a special one, snag a seat on the magical back patio and unwind with a round of Papa’s favourite poison beneath the branches of Allen’s towering old willow.

Caledonian

This bustling Scottish pub at College and Ossington is a like a professional father pleaser – its house specialty is single malt Scotch (though, to be fair, another main feature is charm). A cozy atmosphere, good food and plenty of single malt Scotch is a no-fail recipe for anyone’s happiness, so chances are Pops will approve. The Caledonian is hosting an Aberlour and Glenlivet tasting on Father’s Day (June 21), so suggest a wee whisky tasting in your old man’s honour – I don’t think you’ll have to twist his arm.
