WHERE: Beaujolais, France
WHY: Morgon is a smaller sub-zone or cru within the greater Beaujolais region. As is the case here, greater geographic specificity usually means both higher quality and price. The result is an attractive wine with subtle strawberry and cherry fruit, light texture and assertive acidity. Drinkable now or even more so a couple of years down the road. Chicken out with coq au vin.
