WHERE: Niagara Peninsula
WHY: Anything from a wine-making region within hitchhiking distance is obviously pretty low on the food miles. And when it comes from a vineyard that’s certified biodynamic – a more specific environmental threshold – you’ve got clear-conscience drinking. I will hazard a guess, however, that more than a few trees fell for this wine, which packs oodles of oaky perfume but enough citrus follow-through to keep things balanced.
