A weekly look at what’s on LCBO shelves
WHAT: Malivoire Gamay 2008 (red) Rating: NNN
WHERE: Niagara Peninsula
WHY: If 2010 is your year for drinking more local, sustainably produced wine that tastes good, then be resolute in your choice of Malivoire Gamay. All sorts of stuff is going on in the bouquet: raspberries and pepper, or more like pepper sprinkled on mashed bananas, which sounds freaky but is typical for Gamay. In the mouth, this wine is juicy, delicious, extremely lively – downright fun.
