Tasting notes: Drink and save the planet

Drink and save the planet

The Green Living Show (March 27 to 29 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, 255 Front West) showcases eco and sustainable living – and, of course, sustainability includes the consumption of local beer and wine. Refreshments from Toronto’s Steam Whistle Brewing and Indie Ale House will keep you drinking consciously along with wines from Southbrook and GreenLane. Tickets ($10-$15) and info online at greenlivingshow.ca.

Beer at Brick Works

This Easter weekend, add beer to your basket of eggs and celebrate Good Friday (April 3 from noon to 5 pm) at Great Friday at the Brewer’s Backyard, hosted at the Evergreen Brick Works (550 Bayview). Featuring local breweries and tasty food, the Brewer’s Backyard is family-friendly, and admission is free. More info at brewersbackyard.com.
