WHY: If you’re suffering from Repetitive Grape Disorder – endless glasses of Cabernet, Sauvignon Blanc and Malbec – I’d like to prescribe multiple doses of this Portuguese red. Featuring such lesser-known varieties as Trincadeira and Alfrocheiro, it offers up blackberry candy flavour, lively zip and a touch of otherness that my tasting notes describe as “strange fruity extract.” That’s a good thing.
