Gérard Bertrand Côte Des Roses Rosé 2013
Rating: NNNN
Why So fresh, so clean, so French. I adore bright, uncomplicated rosés – evoking blissfully idle days gorging on unpasteurized cheese and wild mushrooms in the French countryside. This wine is food-friendly but not -dependent. A lovely aperitif.

Bottega Rose Vino Dei Poeti Sparkling
Rating: NNN
Why Shove over, champers – Prosecco’s taking over the title of the world’s fave bubbly. Value and availability have as much to do with Prosecco’s surge as its light, easy-drinking character. Bottega Rose (from Veneto, the sparkling wine’s native region) is all brilliant berries and clean acidity, a patio brunch bottle if I ever met one.

Flat Rock Cellars Pinot Noir Rosé 2013
Rating: NNNN
Why Produced from saignée juice (the lightly macerated bleed-off during red wine production), this rosé is fresh and fruity but grounded by a savoury dryness. Next time I drink this, it’ll be outdoors, with barbecued fish.
