WHY: Vintages is jumping the gun just a bit with its Irish whiskey release, but there’s no harm in starting early. If you want to get serious with your Gaelic imbibing, then look to the Tyrconnell. This single malt starts off sweet and then gets really interesting, with a long finish that evokes a Fisherman’s Friend lozenge. If someone pours you this, you are indeed lucky.
