What We’re Drinking Tonight: Negroni Sbagliato

Arguably mixology’s most beautiful mistake, the Negroni Sbagliato was born when some numbskull bartender reached for a bottle of sparkling wine instead of gin. That anonymous bumbler is one of my personal heroes – his sbaglio (mistake in Italian) is one killer summer drink. Thankfully it’s simple to make, and you’re about to become famous within your circle for “that kinda bitter sparkling drink.” Even if you fuck something up, chances are it’ll still be good.

1 part     Campari

1 part     sweet vermouth

1 part     dry sparkling wine

Build ingredients in a rocks glass over ice. Drop in a piece of orange zest and give it a quick pinky-stir.
