WHAT: El Burro Kickass Shiraz 2007 (red) Rating: NNN
WHERE: Bullas, Spain
WHY: The regrettably colourful name does accurately describe this wine’s ample, assertive presence. With lots of fruit, a serious dash of pepper and a good long finish, it’s excellent with barbecued burgers. Though it’s not what you’d call complex, simplicity, especially in matters of friendly feeding, can be a virtue. Easy to find, easy to remember and still tasty after two days if properly stored in the fridge.
