A $5 menu worth celebrating

As if you needed an excuse to enjoy a menu where everything is less than $5, perpetually busy El Furniture Warehouse (410 Bloor Street, at Brunswick) and its newer sister Queen Street Warehouse (232 Queen Street, at McCaul) are hosting a double opening party on May 4.

Though they’ve both been open for months (the Bloor Street location opened in July of last year and the Queen Street spot opened in December), owner Sean Young says they’ve been too busy to actually celebrate.

The dual parties will feature DJs and special guests, and will be live-streamed to their 10 other locations across Canada. At the Queen Street location, DJ Skratch Bastid will lay down tracks for guests, while at the Bloor Street outpost, Skate4Cancer founder Rob Dyer will host. Both events start at 9 pm and end at midnight and are free to all, but with 125-seat capacity at both restaurants (plus a 50 seat patio at the Queen location), seats may fill up fast.
