Al fresco brunch

Does it get any better than eggs in the great outdoors? Only if you’re rubbing shoulders with Hollywood A-listers at One (116 Yorkville, at Hazelton, 416-961-9600, onehazelton.com), the wrap-around piazza at the exclusive Hazelton Hotel. Of course, privilege comes with a price: celebrity executive chef Mark McEwan’s opulent Bennies go for 17 bucks (Saturday and Sunday from 6:30 am).

Slightly less star-studded, student fave L’Espresso Bar Mercurio (321 Bloor West, at St. George, 416-585-2233, barmercurio.com) kicks it academically with Italian-stye frittatas on its shady curbside terrace overlooking the gardens of U of T’s Munk Centre (Saturday and Sunday from 10 am). There’s always someone sorta famous on the Rivoli’s (332 Queen West, at Spadina, 416-596-1908, rivoli.ca) sunny patio catching the passing parade over plates of pad thai, even if its only ex-server Feist (Sunday from 11:30 am).

Elvis-obsessed Parkdale honky-tonk Cadillac Lounge (1296 Queen West, at Grove, 416-536-7717, cadillaclounge.com) dishes up vegetarian-friendly grub in its huge secluded back yard (Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 am), while swanky Globe Bistro (124 Danforth, at Broadview, 416-466-2000, globebistro.com) keeps it locavore with the Swine & Dine – three eggs with pork six ways, no salad – on a palm-lined rooftop deck (Sunday from 11 am). Think Miami Beach, not Wasaga.
