Sorrenti worked in MP Carolyn Bennett’s office before taking her homegrown culinary skills to the kitchen. She says she plans to use the $10,000 prize toward creating a culinary school for underprivileged youth.

Sorrenti beat out Dave Mottershall of T.O.’s Spirithouse, Paul Ambrose Heighton of Amby’s East food truck in Pictou County, Nova Scotia, and Richard Baksh, regional chef at Earls, Calgary.
