If you’ve ever been hammered late on a downtown-Toronto evening, as I have, this thought has probably crossed your mind: “I would love to shove some Burger’s Priest into my face right now.” Thanks to the aggressive expansion plans of Shant Mardirosian’s gleefully blasphemous shrine to dirty diner burgers, humble drunk-food seeker, your salvation has now arrived.
Never content to rest on his laurels / gilded throne / Popemobile, Mardirosian has spent the past couple of years pushing the Priest past downtown to Vaughan, Guelph, and even Edmonton. Their latest location, sticking closer to home, is a late-night location at Adelaide and Simcoe, which promises to stay open until 4 am on weekends.
It’s just a 10-minute walk away from the Queen St. Priest, but it’s sure to become a popular draw for the office crowd during the week, offset the wicked lines that plague the shop on sunny Saturday afternoons, and later, draw throngs of inebriated post-bar bros attempting to impress their peers by ordering a Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
212 Adelaide West, at Simcoe, theburgerspriest.com. Monday to Wednesday 11:30 am to 9:30pm, Thursday to Friday, 11:30 am to 4 am, Saturdays 12pm to 4 am. Closed Sundays.
