Leslieville’s Ceili Cottage making 400 litres of stew this weekend

For many people (who are not me), this Sunday is most notable for being the day of Super Bowl 50. Personally, I’m more excited about SouperBowl Sunday: the day when the Ceili Cottage, Leslieville’s favourite (newly yurtless) Irish pub, will cook up 400 litres of vegetarian Guinness stew. You could warm the bones of everyone within a three-kilometre radius with that kind of output!

The fifth annual event will see the pub will be doling out bowls or buckets of the hearty stuff (BYO-bowl or bucket) for a PWYC donation this Sunday between 10 am and 2 pm. All proceeds will go to the Leslieville Farmers’ Market. Visitors can either hang around the fortress-like pub to enjoy your stew, along with a pint and the pub’s famed sticky toffee pudding, or tote it back to your place to enjoy with your fellow football fans, just in time to watch the team of your choice score the winning football point. Sports ball!
