Pigeonhole chef popping up at Omaw

DaiLo and Bar Raval made major waves in Toronto’s dining scene last year. But when it came time for EnRoute, Air Canada’s in-flight magazine, to rank the best new spots in Canada, they were bested by a little Calgarian spot called Pigeonhole. Chef Justin Leboe’s small plates-focused wine bar came out on top thanks to what the mag called “exciting, genre-bending” food “anchored to a Victorian sense of refinement.” (The above-linked review is more than worth reading, if only because it contains the phrase “futuristic culinary Esperanto”).

If hopping a flight to the Dallas of the North is not in your immediate future, fear not: Leboe is set to make the journey to the Big Smoke, hosting a 10-course dinner at nouveau-Southern spot Omaw (88 Ossington) on February 21. The chef will team up with Omaw’s own Matt Blondin for a collaborative feast involving six full courses and four snacks. Tickets are $80 email the restaurant at info@omaw.ca to reserve your spot.
