Restaurant Guide: Accessibility matters

Rating: NNNNN

Is accessibility important to you?

NOW labels a restaurant barrier-free if it has at least one entry where there are no steps, its tables are reasonably spaced and the washrooms are located on the same floor. That does not mean, however, that the venue is necessarily equipped with assistance. Here are five of our favourites that provide fully accessible dining.

RIVOLI 332 Queen West, at Spadina, 416-597-1908

Dependable pan-Asian pub grub before, during and after the show.

IZAKAYA 69 Front East, at Church, 416-703-8658

Fast and stylish Japanese noodle house with large unisex loos.

FRESH BY JUICE FOR LIFE 326 Bloor West, at Spadina, 416-531-2635 894 Queen West, at Crawford, 416-913-2720 147 Spadina, at Queen West, 416-599-4442

Washrooms at all three of this venerable vegetarian venue’s locations are fully accessible.

GINGER 3 546 Church, at Wellesley, 416-413-1053

Rapidly expanding family-run resto chain specializes in Saigon subs and pad thai variations.

ROL SAN 323 Spadina, at St. Andrew, 416-977-1128

Although the front room of this Chinatown dim sum destination can be quite chaotic, the washroom between it and the larger rear space is equipped with an accommodating commode.
