Tap into tapas at PintxosTO 2015

Haven’t had your fill of bite-sized Spanish eats from the citywide Tapas Journey crawl this week, or hitting up Bar Raval for the 45th time? Clear your schedule for this Sunday (August 23), because PintxosTO is returning for another round after last year’s sold out event.

The one-day fest, held by Spotlight Toronto, will bring chefs from a dozen restaurants to Royal Bank Plaza (200 Bay) to serve up Spanish-influenced snacks for a few dollars each, in the grand Basque tradition of the pintxo.

This year’s lineup includes nine local restaurants, leaning heavily (unsurprisingly) on Spanish kitchens. But in a move that’s a first for the festival, they’ve welcomed chefs from outside the city: New York restaurant Donostia and Simply Fosh from Palma, Spain will both be offering their own takes, giving Toronto diners a unique eating opportunity (unless a transatlantic flight is involved.) Rounding out the lineup are drinks from Estrella Damm, Dillon’s, Basque cider producer Zapiain Sagardo and Txomin Etxaniz Txakoli winery.

Tickets are $10 each and still available online for 12-2pm, 2-4pm, or 4-6pm time windows. Check out the full list of participating restaurants below:

  • Barsa Taberna
  • Carmen
  • Cava
  • East Thirty Six

  • Salt Wine Bar
  • Splendido
