The Big Carrot is headed for the Upper Beaches

Health-oriented grocer The Big Carrot (348 Danforth, at Hampton, 416-466-2129, thebigcarrot.ca) has been keeping Danforth locals supplied with all things fair-trade, organic and non-GMO for three decades now, they’re spreading the love even further into the city’s east end. This week, the store announced a second location will be coming to the Upper Beaches in 2017.

The second Carrot location will be the anchor in a new project by Streetcar Developments, The Southwood, to be built at Kingston Road and Southwood Drive. The 6,300-square-foot space will feature many of the same amenities as the Danforth shop, including organic, gluten-free, local and vegan eats, an on-site juice bar, and a body care section.
