Much weeping of crocodile tears accompanied the shuttering of Lindy’s (403 Yonge), the bargain-basement steak house straight out of Toronto’s dinosaur dining scene. Canned peas, instant mashed potatoes and grey steaks so over-tenderized they could be squished by forks won’t be missed. But the joint’s campy 50s decor — shiny red naugahyde booths complete with personal jukeboxes and Bonanza-style cow horns everywhere — will be.
