The fourth annual Winterlicious fest gears up for another two weeks of discount dining starting Friday, January 27. Prix fixe prices have risen this season, a three-course spread at Canoe (66 Wellington West, at York, 416-364-0054) and Truffles (21 Avenue Road, at Yorkville, 416-928-7331) going for 35 bucks. But there are still plenty of bargains out there, including $25 dinner deals at Niagara Street Café (169 Niagara, at Wellington West, 416-703-4222), Batifole (744 Gerrard East, at Howland, 416-462-9965) and Southern Accent (595 Markham, at Bloor West, 416-536-3211). Tempo in limbo
Is time running out for Tempo (596 College, at Clinton, 416-531-2822)? Despite the fact that the windows of one of downtown's hippest haunts have been papered over since New Year's, co-owner Greg Bottrell says it ain't necessarily curtains for chef Tom Thai 's chic sushiteria. "Nothing's been decided," says Bottrell, who's also part of the team behind Kensington's Supermarket . "We might do a total reno or open it as a bar, but it will be a totally new direction, maybe something similar to Supermarket. The neighbourhood's up for it."
