Can't be arsed to cook a festive bird yourself this weekend? Cabbagetown's Big Mamma's Boy (554 Parliament, at Prospect, 416-927-1593) will be slow-roasting free-range geese from Fresh from the Farm on Friday and Saturday evenings (December 22 and 23).
For $24.95 a head, revellers will dine on confit of Honky with gluten-free brown rice and dried cranberry stuffing, sided with sautéed German-style cabbage and Brussels sprouts, all washed down with mulled wine.
Eat Café closes
After a four-year-run, Anila Dhanji of Dundas West's Eat Café is taking a break from the resto biz to have a baby. Watch for a family-style Portuguese spot to open shortly in the now-shuttered space.
