To celebrate its centenary, the Fairmont Royal York Hotel (100 Front West, at York) will be offering free tours of its rooftop organic garden. Previously closed to the public, the airy aery provides all the herbs used by the hotel's kitchens and a panoramic view of the downtown core that few get to see. After the 30-minute tour, tour-ists can take in a specially priced Centennial Tea at Epic (416-860-6949), the Royal York's snazzy first-floor dining room. Appropriately priced at $19.07, the afternoon nosh promises toasted crumpets with Grand Marnier butter, crust-free finger sandwiches like baby shrimp salad with rooftop garden greens, scones with clotted cream and jam, an assortment of pastries and a pot of the hotel's Centennial Blend tea. The tour 'n' tea runs Monday to Friday at 2:30 pm through September 30.
