Patty Stop, the Scarborough patty shop that Drake shouted out on social media, has opened a second location.

The grab-and-go Caribbean joint specializing in open-faced Jamaican patties loaded with toppings is now operating a second location in at 2636 St. Clair East at O’Connor Drive in East York.

Owners Sabrina Cheddie and Freddy Gyebi opened the original Patty Stop at 5506 Lawrence East last year, and the location began attracting long lines after the hip-hop superstar – who is old friends with Gyebi – posted an image of their gourmet twist on the snack on Instagram.

The press immediately christened the family-run business “Drake’s favourite patty spot.”

Last summer, the pair told NOW the restaurant has become particularly popular with Gen Xers nostalgic for patties sandwiched in cocoa bread and topped with lettuce, tomatoes and cheese, which they ate for lunch during their high school years.

Gyebi and Cheddie split their patties open and give customers a choice of extras, including cheese, veggies, coleslaw and tender jerk chicken. The menu also includes a jerk chicken salad and vegan “jerk jackfruit” patties.

They also have a selection of sauces, including Cheddie’s mom’s pepper sauce, which you can also buy bottled.
