In this nuanced play about experience versus memory, Emma, a 48-year-old woman, can’t sleep yet again with worrying about a secret she’s not divulged.

With the help of her teen-aged self, she explores the past, the meaning of love and what it takes to be honest with herself and those closest to her.

Co-authors Alexis Bernier and Nastasia Pappas-Kemps offer different writing styles for the two Emmas, the former poetic and layered, the latter prosaic and realistic. Under the direction of Anna Pappas, talented actors Gina Clayton and the young Lily Scriven use movement and words to reveal the depths of a confused woman, at times goaded by her younger shadow, who’s had only five real kisses in 30 years.
