While I was watching this DVD, my roommate came home and asked, "Oh no, is this the geriatric Stooges?" Unfortunately, that describes the stage presence of original Stooges Ron and Scott Asheton. Fortunately, in this 2003 concert, their first appearance in Detroit in 29 years, they still sound almost exactly the same as they did in the early 70s, and fill-in bassist Mike Watt does a decent job.
Iggy is in full madman form - lunging into the crowd and at one point inviting a hundred or so fans up onstage for some inspired chaos. The sound is pretty decent, but the filming is uninspired, almost unprofessional. The extras are really only for the diehards: footage of the Stooges' reunion gig at a NYC record store, Mike Watt's embarrassingly gushing commentary, goofy sing-along-with-Iggy versions and a photo gallery of the Stooges as young men.
