Author has more than just a famous grandfather
With a name like Hemingway, you know you’re going to get attention. But Mariel Hemingway has more to get over than just a famous grandfather: several members of her family have been afflicted with mental illness and addiction. She writes about it all – and her own career – in her memoir, Out Came The Sun ($32.50, Regan Arts) and the version for younger readers, Invisible Girl, and talks about both on Thursday (August 13) at the Reference Library’s Bram & Bluma Appel Salon. 7 pm. Free. The event is sold out, but rush tickets may be available. tpl.ca.
