Just announced Toronto shows: Ramriddlz plays his first all-ages show in the city

There’s Summer Sixteen and then there’s… Sweet Sixteen. At least, that’s what Mississauga R&B singer Ramy Abdel-Rahman, aka Ramriddlz, has dubbed his first all-ages concert in the city. 

The 22-year-old rocketed to internet notoriety more than a year ago after Drake remixed his indie ballad Sweeterman and played it on his OVO Sound show on Apple’s Beats 1 Radio.

Since the initial flurry of attention, he’s gigged sporadically while releasing a steady stream of light-’n’-easy music in the form of EPs and collaborations with acts like Cash Money-signed Toronto rapper J-Soul and dancehall artist Nemesis.

Ramriddlz’s music generally revolves around the not-too-strenuous themes of sex and getting baked, while taking us on a narrative journey along the lines of party-patio-bedroom-repeat.  It’s hardly complex stuff, but perfect for the dead heat of summer. And there’s an appealing softness to his gentle, reggae-influenced rhythms and vaporous vocals.
