Kid Koala is one jazzy motherfucker. His ability to bounce a horn solo from some old jazz record into whichever notes he wants is astonishing, and he does it with such ease and humility that it makes you cry. On this DVD/CD of 03's Short Attention Span tour supporting his graphic novel/album Nufonia Must Fall, the equally bananas techniques of his turntable cronies DJ Jester and P-Love make them perfect point guards for the Montreal Kid, who also plays multiple tables and a Wurlitzer. Together they entwine beautiful 50s sci-fi ambience and New Orleans jazz from records they've dug. Filmed at Lock 17 in London, England, the video's got spliced-in Monkmus shorts, animated music videos and a computer version of the bingo game the audience played. Too bad it's just over half an hour long, not including the five-track audio CD.
