Two weeks after the release of The Green Inferno, Eli Roth is back on our screens with Knock Knock. Which is weird, because this one has “straight to VOD” written all over it.
Knock Knock stars Keanu Reeves as Evan, a married architect who makes the mistake of inviting two young women (Lorenza Izzo, Ana de Armas) into his empty home one rainy night when his wife and kids are away for the weekend.
It’s a mistake because this is an Eli Roth movie, and that means our well-intentioned hero is about to suffer greatly for his kindness.
Gorehounds who loved Cabin Fever, The Green Inferno and the Hostel movies will be disappointed to learn Roth is more interested in psychological horror this time around. It will also disappoint everyone else, since Roth isn’t particularly good at the whole mind games thing.
And the ending’s a crock.
