Nature never fails to inspire Helen Humphreys. Her.
Nature never fails to inspire Helen Humphreys. Her most recent novel, The Evening Chorus, resonates with the theme of birdsong, and her unique collection The Frozen Thames mines history and geography to imagine scenes that could have unfolded on each of the occasions the river turned to ice. Humphreys adds to that mix botany and art in her non-fiction work The River ($24.95, ECW), an elegant hymn to the section of the Napanee River on whose banks she’s lived for over 10 years.
She discusses the book at Another Story on Tuesday (October 13). See Readings.
