A fashion week day in the life of… LABEL

To gently ease us into the fashion week frenzy, let’s start our series of day-in-the-life designer features with Label‘s Shawna Robinson and Natalie Sydoruk.

On Friday evening, the pair skipped the usual runway hoopla and instead opted to unveil their Fall 2012 collection with a short film screening at The Bowery.

While waiting for the flick, editors flipped through a rack of samples including a standout little red velvet dress with leather cap sleeves and inkblot print pieces featuring a design by graphic artist Corey Gibbs. Inspired by the Rorschach test, those spotty styles were the most literal expressions of their “A Dangerous Mind” theme.

We followed the designing duo through the filming of the collection and its premiere and asked them how crazy a Label show day can get?

How would you describe your Fall 2012 collection?

Dark, modern, sexy

What do you eat for breakfast on show day?

Lots of protein! So usually eggs with hot sauce and some black coffee

Any other show day rituals?

Hopefully having time to properly blow dry our hair

How do you celebrate after the show?

We love a good after party: dancing, champagne, and hugging all our friends and collaborators.

What are doing the day after your show?

We were actually back in the studio (on a Saturday no less) packing up Spring 2012 shipments
