Where: Bloor and Sherbourne When: Thursday afternoon
Clothing: “My black and hot pink high-tops were $100 in Montreal. I never spend that much money on anything, but come on, they’re black and pink. My Old Navy jeans were $15 at Planet Aid (546 Yonge, 416-924-8928), and I’ve had this belt (the only one I own) since I was 12. I got the Tom of Finland boxers I’m wearing at the Oscar Wilde Bookshop in NYC for $20. My pink ringer T is from American Apparel (499 Queen West, 416-703-5146, and others) and this hot-pink wool sweater vest was $5 at spoken-word supastar Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha’s yard sale. I’m binding with a $30 abdominal binder from the Tranny Depot, aka Pharma Plus (63 Wellesley East, 416-924-7760, and others). The lovely hat is a loaner from my stylish ex-domestic partner and best friend, Annanda. Believe it or not, these glasses were $150 at Costco (100 Billy Bishop Way, 416-635-9724, and others), and I didn’t even have to buy them in bulk. My lip and septum were pierced by Jon at New Tribe Piercing & Tattooing (232 Queen West, 416-977-2786), and the Jewcore Hebrew tattoo on my back was done at Reactive Ink (283 Augusta, 416-204-1657).”
Hair: “Karen at Split Endz (609 Queen West, 416-203-6620) has saved me from a lifetime of cheap barbershop hack jobs.”
My Style: “Minimalist faggotry with remnants of my years as a lazy butch dyke”
