Magic Tan

Between the harsh UV damage of old-fashioned sun tanning and the freaky orange streaks that come with self-tanner, for some people catching a summer glow can be a fairly frustrating experience. To my fellow burners, I suggest Magic Tan. This mist-on sunless tanner takes less than a minute to apply and gives you five to 10 days of that perfect just-spent-a-week-at-a-nudist-colony-in-Greece grade of light colour. Here’s how it works: Strip down to the buck and apply barrier cream to your elbows, knees, ankles, feet and hands – be sure to coat your nails well. (This will keep the bronzer from making any wacky deposits.) Throw on your shower cap and step into the clear glass shower-stall-like chamber. But before you press the flashing green button, know two things: one, the spray jets are hella loud, and two, you’ll need to hold your breath for roughly 20 seconds, during the four times/positions the tanner coats your body from bottom to top. Post-spray, wipe away the barrier cream and lightly buff you skin with a towel to remove any residual drops. Wear loose clothes for the first hour for optimum results.
