Brian Hui

Rating: NNNNN

Who: Brian Hui, film and TV makeup artist

Where: Bay and Wellesley

When: Saturday afternoon

Clothing: “I got this T-shirt from two lovely ladies at work, Kate Levering and Michelle Arvizu, for Christmas (Urban Outfitters, 235 Yonge, 416-214-1466). It matches my shirt from French Connection (360 Queen West, 416-260-1272), which was on sale for about 40 bucks. The blazer is from Jet Rag ($89, 359 Queen West, 416-979-2677). My V pin was given out by Will Munro at Vazaleen, where I was till late in the evening last night. After backpacking in Europe in 95, I ended up in London, where I got this ring on Portobello Road. I was totally broke, but I managed to scrape together the 50 pounds I needed to buy it. The rockin’ chicks from Barbie’s Basement Jewellery (www.bbj.ca), Robin and Ange, made me this Valley Of The Dolls belt for my birthday a few years ago. Guess Jeans are responsible for my jeans and coat ($80 and $200, 409 Queen West, 416-979-1594). Last but not least, my boots were a steal for $85 at Browns (Eaton Centre, 416-979-9270, and others), marked down from $200. They’re like walking on sex! My last two tattoos were done by Jay at Passage (473 Church, 416-929-7330) and Scott Duncan, who’s up in Kincardine at the Sugar Shack.”

Hair: “The amazing Mikah Styles colours and coifs this head (416-960-2388).”

My Style: “The result of a ménage à trois between David Bowie, Astro Boy and the Muppets.”

Into: “Boys, rock ‘n’ roll, boys who like boys who like rock ‘n’ roll. Oh, and I’m doing makeup on UPN’s freshman series, Kevin Hill. CTV should be airing it soon. We’re finishing up our first season, and it’s been a blast.”
