WHO: Dagmara Grabowski, creative and editorial coordinator for the Fashion Design Council of Canada
WHEN: Friday, 10 am
WHERE: Yorkville Parkette at Cumberland and Bellair CLOTHING: “My banana-yellow patent leather heels are from Aldo (332 Yonge, 416-596-1390, and others) and cost around $80. These pinstripe pants were $80 at Zara (50 Bloor West, 416-916-2401, and others). This blouse is a design by Jennifer Dares, whose clothing can be found at Layer (9 Saint Nicholas, 416-929-5150). I’m wearing a ring with my family coat of arms. Every woman in my family gets one on her 18th birthday as a coming-of-age present. The Diesel watch I’ve got on was also a birthday present.”
HAIR: “I had my hair cut by Jie of Salon Jie (38 Avenue Road, 416-926-0026), and my colour was done by Peter Tamlin at the same salon. They just did their first-ever Fashion Week hair show.”
MY STYLE: “I’m always looking for the accents in a wardrobe, like a belt buckle turned to the side rather than the front. I like glamour at night and well put-together during the day. Style is about what looks good on you, not just wearing full-force trends. Style should accentuate your personality rather than become your personality.”
INTO: “Fashion Week, which is great because it celebrates Canadian chic. Also travel, fashion photography (I love London-based photographer Nick Knight), interactive fashion on the Internet, euro-dance, The Darkness and Jet.”
