Denny Alexander

Rating: NNNNN

WHO: Denny Alexander, publicity coordinator with the Toronto International Film Festival Group. “During the festival I’m the publicist for two programs, Discovery and Wavelengths. Year round I work on Cinematheque Ontario and the Film Reference Library.”

WHEN: Thursday, 9:30 am

WHERE: 2 Carlton (College and Yonge), TIFFG screening room.

CLOTHING: “My sneakers are from Browns (50 Bloor West, 416-960-4925, and others) and cost around $150. The jeans are Blend of America from Wenches and Rogues (610 Queen West, 416-536-2172) and cost about $70. My Super 8 T-shirt is a favourite. It was made for me by my friend Laura McKibbon, an artist living in Montreal. You can’t get the T-shirt anywhere, but she does similar screening onto ceramics that you can buy at Iodine & Arsenic (867 Queen West, 416-681-0577). I got this leather bracelet for $20 at Borderline (331 Queen West, 416-599-9821) – they do custom stuff. My earrings were $6 from a cute street vendor on Queen West at Soho.”

HAIR: “I just got it all cut off for the festival. Tristin consulted and

Cheryl laboured at the Aveda Academy (95 Bloor West, 416-921-2961).”

MY STYLE: Sentimental.”

INTO: Home movies, found footage and optical printing, filmmakers Wong Kar-wai, Bruno Dumont, Lars von Trier and Martin Arnold, indie music and the splendid spinning Mr. Will Munro and the now defunct Blinding Light!!! micro-cinema.”
