Desire Kaniki, stylist/model.
What does style mean to you? To me, style is being independent, style is being yourself, style is being fearless. It also means not being afraid to not be “in style.”
With fashion changing every six months, I believe that it is important to develop and maintain a certain aesthetic that is not only personal but also lets you travel through yearly moods and trends.
Define your personal style. My style is always changing. I wake up with a different persona and character every morning. I like to use themes when putting an outfit together. I love mixing and matching prints, colours and vibes all the while finding innovative and interesting ways to wear old garments that I have had in my closet for ages. I love to fun when I dress. Sometimes it looks great, sometimes it looks tragic, but whatever it is it’s always me. All in all fashion is suppose to be fun, so I try not to take it too seriously.
I feel naked without: An oversize bag that I can throw in anything and everything I need for my daily errands. i.e: Laptop, outerwear (for the fall), magazines, notepads etc…
Favourite part of Toronto? My secret all time favourite vintage store where I’ve found the best pieces of my closet. I would tell you where it’s located but that would make it no so secret anymore.
Head-to-toe:
All vintage.
