Eden Arabella Hertzog

Rating: NNNNN

Who: Eden Arabella Hertzog, owner of New Moon Kitchen, singer/songwriter

Where: Outside the bakery at Wiltshire Place Studios, near Dupont and Symington WHEN: Tuesday afternoon

Clothing: “I bought these sandals in Cannes. France has these huge sales twice a year – everything goes down to half-price or less. This Geek Boutique skirt, from my favourite store in Toronto, Public (881 Queen West, 416-350-8114), was $125. The blouse is from Frock (97 Roncesvalles, 416-516-1333), my neighbourhood boutique, which has good sales in August, a lot of half-price stuff. This purse ($10) comes from Parkdale shop Stella Luna (1627 Queen West, 416-536-7300), the best vintage store in the city. The bracelets were a gift from my mother, who got them in NYC’s Lower East Side in 68 when she was a groupie/waitress/runaway/singer. I found this funny beaded necklace in a drawer in my grandmother’s house. My little aquamarine necklace was a gift from my friend and fellow baker Shasha, who got it in Abadiania, Brazil, where he goes to see that crazy healer, John of God. My boyfriend, Brian, found this hat at the local dump in Dorset, Ontario.” Hair: “I wash it a couple of times a week. I don’t even brush it! I get it cut by my friend Dawn Larson – she has a set-up in her beautiful home. Get in touch with her at dawnlarson@sympatico.ca.”

My Style: “Gourmet granola girl who likes the finer things in life”

Into: “Travelling, studying shamanism, being a businesswoman, baking, cooking with organics, Tae Kwon Do, swimming, cycling, walking, dancing, laughing my ass off, learning Yiddish from my Grandma Rose, writing and singing my songs, listening to my boyfriend Brian Macmillan’s music, being a better person every day, breaking the rules, creating new ones, making really good things in the world – like cookies (see www.newmoonkitchen.com).”
