Fall menswear preview

1. OSC Cross’s second outerwear season expands the coat brand’s lineup of more tailored down toppers. The Dawson ($465, osccross.com) features contrast fabric on the shoulders, yolk, hood and sleeves and lots of fleece-lined pockets to keep your gear toasty.

2. Woven belts are usually a summer thing, but cincher label Anderson’s has done lots of dapper versions for autumn in colourful cord or braided tone-on-tone wool with suede tabs ($160, Holt Renfrew, 50 Bloor West, 416-922-2333, and others, andersonheritage.it).

3. It’s somewhat surprising that in a cool climate like ours more local designers don’t focus on sweaters. Toronto’s Killigrew does, creating pieces like this tailored cardigan in burgundy houndstooth ($262, killigrewfashion.com.

4. Cursor & Thread’s bow tie collection is made up of dapper neckwear in more casual fabrics, like polka dot flannel, plaid cotton and this herringbone weave ($59). Find them online at cursorandthread.com and at Brodawka & Friends (1114 Queen West, 416-893-0173, brodawkaandfriends.com)

5. If you’d rather take a more subtle approach to fall’s camouflage trend than full fatigues, try on Converse’s printed Jack Purcell sneaks ($80, Gravity Pope, 1010 Queen West, 647-748-5155, gravitypope.com).
