Big Apple news

No offence to the Toronto shows, but come on, NYC is the capital of North American fashion. So I’m pleased to announce some local talents putting their cash and egos on the line to show the world Toronto style is on a par with anyone else’s – if not better. Downtown superstar Jeremy Laing (yup, he’s the one who worked with Alexander McQueen for five seasons) is debuting his fall 05 House of Laing line at cutting-edge Lower East Side art emporium Participant Inc. Saturday (February 5) at 6 pm.

Seasoned vet Joeffer Caoc of Misura fame will also be in the Big Apple showing 10 fur-based outfits at New York Fashion Week’s infamous 7th on Sixth . Participating in the Northern Exposures show presented by the National Fur Association (NAFA) and the Toronto Fashion Incubator (TFI), Caoc will show alongside former fellow-TFI alumni David Dixon and CinCyn . The runway presentation is scheduled for noon Saturday (February 5), and his full collection will be released to the Canadian market at Toronto Fashion Week in March, where the label formerly known as Misura will debut as Joeffer Caoc.
