Not that we need our talent to be recognized or validated by American media sources, and I'm obviously all for CanCon... but I must say, to a local fashionista such as m'self who's followed the relatively under-published success of Toronto it designers Mercy (aka Jennifer Halchuk and Richard Lyle ) for the past 11 years, it's pretty fucking cool to see indie style mag Nylon covering them in the May issue. Sorry, but it just is, so pick it up. www.nylonmag.com.

Congratulations to Ukrainian-born Mississauga-based Daria Werbowy , who as a teen (she's now 21) worked her way to the top rung of the supermodel ladder and has just landed a mega-bucks, multi-year contract as the international face of Lancôme . If you're not sure who Daria is, that's her in the spring 2005 Chanel campaign.
