Decorate for the cause
Attention, decor hounds: consider shelving your plans of spending Saturday at a big-box store, and instead join Toronto’s design community at the sixth annual Home + Style Studio Tour And Sale , in support of Canadian HIV-AIDS causes. What to expect? Pretty much a crosstown open house of the city’s hottest artist studios, furniture showrooms and galleries. There’ll also be live demos and one-on-one chats with TV personalities, a silent auction and a chill-out spa at the Elmwood with chair massages and hand treatments. Start planning your route online at www.studiotouronline.com. 416-221-1937.
Bound to be leather…
Look for lots at Saturday’s (October 22) ninth annual Northbound Leather Winter Fashion Show And Party (aka the world’s largest fetish night) at the Docks Entertainment Complex (11 Polson). Doors open at 9 pm, show starts at 11 pm, and then there’s dungeon and dancing until 6 am. That’s right, I said dungeon, so you know, wear something appropriate, like maybe a harness or some body lotion. Tickets $40 in advance, $50 at the door. 416-972-1037, www.northbound.com.
Perfect 10
Big congrats go out to College Street landmark gift boutique Red Pegasus (628 College). With 10 years under its designer belt, it’s time to par-tay, so join the fabulous ladies responsible for making it such a success at the 10th Anniversary Celebration raffle and website launch on Sunday (October 23) from 6 to 10 pm. Not only will a boatload of designers be coming in to raffle off their wares, but there’ll also be cookies and apple cider, 25 per cent off everything in the store, and, as at all good birthday bashes, a token gift just for showing. www.redpegasus.ca.
