Style night at 1100 Queen West
While a cast of hipster boy and grandpa-aged models showed off the new AujCollections (www.aujcollections. com) line of necktie- print Ts at the Social on July 27, Spin Gallery (www.spingallery.ca) launched its Hello Dolly! group exhibit upstairs. The gallery tapped a group of local art and fashion types to create doll-inspired works. Check out Madame HAIR 's "Herman and his windup doll Magic Madge" painting, Bernice Lum 's wall of patchwork flannel soft sculpture doggies and Lydia Klenck 's Birdface figure sporting a miniature Lydia K wardrobe until the show closes August 6.

Designer kids' camp
Thirty-five pint-sized fashionistas turned the Design Exchange into an ankle-biting atelier last week for DX's Summer Design Camp fashion week. On July 28, proud parents dropped by to check out projects that included frothy plastic sheet dresses, magazine collage inspiration boards and a runway show on the glam art deco trading floor. Tube- and apron-style dresses with tartan trim, cinched waists and black-and-white colour blocking showed off the young 'uns' savvy trend-spotting and stitching skills. Log on to www.dx.org/education/programs.html for a complete summer class list.
